We have all done it – dropped our keys or a knife on a finished wood surface – and watched the scratches appear. Don’t go nuts but go and get the nuts. Fresh (not salted) walnuts and Brazil nuts are the best. They are full of natural oils that can help darken the wood to hide the scratches. Break the nut in half and rub over the scratch in the direction of the wood grain. Repeat until the scratch starts to fade and buff with a clean, dry cloth to finish.
