You can transform a basic tin can in minutes into an attractive and useful container with just a little paint and imagination. Wash out your can and remove the label. Dry thoroughly. In the color of your choice paint the outside and inside of the can, (or at least as far as you can reach.) You can use spray or regular paint. I prefer a gloss or semi-gloss finish that adds a little sheen. Once the paint has dried, you can have fun adding appliques, labels, jewels, buttons, borders, lace, glitter or whatever takes your fancy. Fill with your pens, pencils, plants, make-up brushes, art supplies and other bits and bobs. These are great for holding cutlery on your summer picnic table.
