One of the many superpowers of citrus is that ants do not like lemons at all. If you see ants crawling over your cat’s food dish, give the affected area the lemon treatment.
First, squeeze a lemon. A quick tip to get more juice out of your lemon is to put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds before you squeeze. Remember to prick the skin first so it doesn’t burst.
Pour or squirt the juice into holes and cracks where the ants are getting in and on the area where you see them running. Then scatter pieces of lemon peel around your outdoor entrance. Ants will soon get the message loud and clear that there’s no point visiting. You are not welcome here!
