Regular cleaning and maintenance is the key to keeping all cleaning projects simple. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I wish I could follow my own advice!
When your grill looks too unappetizing to cook on, roll up your sleeves, don the rubber gloves and grab the baking soda. Turn on the grill and let it heat up enough to help you shift the worst mess with a BBQ brush. Turn off the grill and let it cool enough to handle. Remove the grill rack.
Mix a paste of washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda or baking soda. Let it sit for 15-30 minutes, depending how burnt on the food and grease is.
The washing up liquid starts cutting through the grease and the baking soda is a natural abrasive. Finish off by scrubbing the grill with a pan scrubber, that you will then throw away. You’ll be surprised how good a job this combo does.
